About

The Cailin Traditional Irish Dancing School was established in 1995 by Ann Parker.

The School contributes to art and culture in the Manawatu through regular performances at community events such as St Patrick’s Day, and the Festival of Cultures.

In 2008 the school produced its first show “The Children of Lir” which was a huge success.

The current teachers are Tessa Pratt and Kate Gibbons as Rachel Bulford is currently away on maternity leave.

In 2007 grade assessments were introduced to the school, there are a total of 13 grades, with a minimum of 2 dances in each grade.  A mark of at least 60% must be obtained to achieve a pass.

Since the first grade assessments in late 2007 our school has consistently achieved a 100% pass rate.
